Who we are
Parendipity, Inc. ("Parendipity," "we," "us," or "our") provides family-logistics software for parents and caregivers. This policy covers our website, mobile apps, APIs, support channels, and connected Google and billing integrations.
Contact us at support@parendipity.ai. Parendipity Tech, Inc., 8520 Allison Pointe Blvd Ste 223 PMB 663764, Indianapolis, IN 46250, US.
Information we collect
- Account and profile information, including name, email address, avatar, timezone, household membership, and sign-in identifiers.
- Family and child profile information that you or another household member enter, including names, school/activity context, assignments, and caregiver responsibilities.
- Event, task, reminder, source, digest, and notification data created by Parendipity from connected Gmail, Google Calendar, and app activity.
- Google data you authorize, including Gmail messages needed to identify family logistics and Google Calendar metadata/events needed to show calendars and sync selected events.
- Device and push-notification data, diagnostics, analytics, support messages, subscription status, and transaction records needed to operate the website and mobile apps.
How we use information
- Provide the Relief Dashboard, event parsing, reminders, calendar sync, digests, and shared household coordination.
- Operate subscriptions, trials, purchase restoration, billing support, refunds, taxes, fraud prevention, and security controls.
- Maintain, debug, secure, and improve the website, mobile apps, APIs, and customer support experience.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
Google data and scopes
Gmail access is read-only. We never send, delete or move mail in your Gmail account. Google sign-in also uses openid, email and profile to identify your account. We do not request Google address or phone permissions; you enter household contact details yourself.
- gmail.readonly lets Parendipity read relevant Gmail messages so we can find school, league, activity, registration, schedule, action-needed, and logistics information for your family.
- calendar.calendarlist.readonly lets Parendipity show the calendars available to your Google account so you can choose where events should sync.
- calendar.events lets Parendipity create, update, and remove Parendipity-managed event links when you choose calendar sync. We do not delete arbitrary user-created calendar events.
Parendipity's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google Limited Use commitments
- We use Google data only to provide or improve user-facing Parendipity features.
- We do not sell Google data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to advertising platforms.
- Humans do not read Google data except with your consent, for support you request, for security/compliance, or to diagnose a specific issue.
- We share Google data with service providers as needed to provide Parendipity and, when a supported third-party agent connection and the affected source owners' sharing permissions are explicitly authorized, share limited derived logistics to provide that user-facing feature. These uses and transfers remain subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.
Sharing and service providers
No ads, no data brokers. We never sell your data. Ever. Parendipity does not display ads or provide your data to data brokers.
We use service providers for hosting, databases, authentication, email delivery, push notifications, analytics, diagnostics, customer support, billing, and payment processing. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset sale.
Sharing with Muse
When you choose to connect Parendipity to Meta's Muse, you authorize us to share limited household logistics that you can access in Parendipity and that are permitted for sharing through that connection, so Muse can answer your requests. This includes schedules, ride assignments, open action items, limited household member information, and recent logistics changes. Logistics may be derived from Google-connected sources. Information derived from another parent's connected sources or their contributions in Parendipity is excluded unless that parent separately approves sharing through your connection. Shared-app access alone does not authorize this transfer. The connector does not provide raw email messages, email subjects or senders, attachments, contact details, or private care information. Meta processes information it receives under its applicable terms and privacy policy.
When a household parent connects Muse, we provide the other eligible parent or parents with an in-app request to review what would be shared. Approval is optional and does not require a Muse account. Ignoring, dismissing or declining a request does not authorize sharing and does not affect ordinary Parendipity use. Each approval applies to the identified connection and disclosed contributions. Items that combine contributions from parents who have not all approved, or whose sources cannot be established reliably, may be omitted, so Muse's view of household logistics may be incomplete.
A parent reviewing a sharing request is relying on the connecting parent's confirmation that Muse's training setting is off; Parendipity does not independently verify that setting. Approving sharing through someone else's connection does not create a Muse connection for the approving parent or authorize reciprocal sharing through another connection.
Before connecting, you must turn off Muse's “Help improve our AI models” setting and confirm that you have done so. Keep it off while connected. Meta's published Muse privacy policy says that this setting also controls use of connector information for AI model improvement. Parendipity records your confirmation; we do not automatically inspect or change your Muse setting. This requirement supports our Google Limited Use commitments and does not replace them.
Retention and deletion
We keep active-account data while your account is active and as needed to provide Parendipity. In the mobile app, go to Settings, Account and data, Delete account to start self-service deletion. Support at support@parendipity.ai is a fallback only if you cannot access the app.
Deleting your Parendipity account removes or deidentifies your profile, Google tokens, sessions, mobile tokens, push devices, source data, assignments, preferences, notification jobs, and local Gmail/Calendar-derived links. If other household members remain, genuinely shared household records needed by them may remain, but your identity and personal source data are removed or deidentified. If you are the only household member, household records no one else can access are removed or deidentified.
We attempt remote Google OAuth revocation during deletion and always clear local Google credentials so future scans and sync jobs cannot resume. Revoking Google access from your Google Account stops future Google access, but it does not by itself delete your Parendipity account.
Disconnecting Muse stops future access through that connection. Withdrawing your approval to share through another parent's connection stops future sharing of your covered contributions through it; other independently authorized information may remain available. Neither action deletes your Parendipity account or automatically removes information already received by Muse. Use Muse's own data controls for information stored there. Deleting your Parendipity account also revokes its agent connections and invalidates its sharing approvals; the existing household-retention and deletion rules otherwise continue to apply.
We retain minimum deidentified billing, tax, refund, fraud, security, and deletion-audit records when required. Backup copies age out on their normal cycle and are not used to restore deleted accounts except as required for security, fraud, or legal reasons.
Subscriptions and transactions
Apple subscriptions are managed by Apple. Deleting your Parendipity account does not cancel Apple billing, and retained Apple transaction/subscription records are minimized and deidentified so App Store Server Notifications can be processed without restoring account access. Active Stripe recurrence owned by a deleting user or sole-member household is canceled before deletion completes.
Security and your rights
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the data. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, object to, or restrict processing of your data. Contact support@parendipity.ai to exercise these rights.
Children and changes
Parendipity is intended for household decision makers and is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where law requires. We may update this policy and will post the current date here.
